meteocool is open-core, built and run by volunteers in their spare time. This app is open source (AGPL-3.0), free of charge and has no ads.
Radar data from DWD, MeteoSwiss, Météo-France, ČHMÚ, IMGW-PIB and NOAA; the app lists every source and its licence under Settings.

- Live radar, updated every few minutes: Germany, Switzerland, France, Czechia, Poland and the United States
- Nowcast: watch where the rain moves over the next 45 minutes. In our experience the first 45 minutes are pretty spot-on
- Lightning strikes live, from Blitzortung.org
- Storm cells, with a 3D radar view of each one
- Precipitation types, as the radar sees them
- Rain forecast for your location, comparing several weather models
- Base maps: match system, light, dark, OpenStreetMap or CyclOSM for biking
- Radar colour maps, including two for colour vision deficiency
- Your location on the map, followed as you move
- English, German, French, Italian, Polish and Czech
