Guandan 掼蛋

Guandan card game for four players over local Wi-Fi. No server, no account.
New in version 1.1.2
* The store description now states that the interface is Chinese only
* The host runs a foreground service, so the table survives switching apps or an aggressive battery saver
* "Resume last game" on the main menu when the system killed the host mid-match
* Clients reconnect on their own after a drop and reclaim their seat via a persistent local id
* Fixed: some illegal card combinations could be played
* Fixed: a following card was scored with an undervalued primary rank
Please note: the interface is currently available in Chinese only. An English translation is planned for a future release.

Guandan (掼蛋) is a Chinese climbing card game for four players in two partnerships, played with two decks. Teams start at level 2 and work their way up to Ace, and the red hearts of the current level are wild — they can stand in for any card.

Everything runs on your local Wi-Fi. There is no server, no account, no sign-up and no internet connection: devices find each other over mDNS and talk directly to one another over TCP. Nothing about your game leaves the room.

Features

* Four players in two teams, partners sitting opposite each other
* A full match, not a single deal — both teams climb from level 2 to Ace, and a team wins only by taking first and second place together at Ace
* The current level's red hearts are wild and can stand in for any card
* Cross-platform: Android, iPhone and iPad players can share one table, and either platform can host
* Bots fill any empty seat, so you can start a game on a single device
* Drop out and a bot covers your seat, then hands it back the moment you rejoin — the host also keeps the table alive in the background, and clients reconnect on their own
* A hint button when you are not sure what to play
* Five colour themes, including a light mode, remembered between sessions

All devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. Tribute (进贡) is not implemented.

Although APK downloads are available below to give you the choice, you should be aware that by installing that way you will not receive update notifications and it's a less secure way to download. We recommend that you install the F-Droid client and use that.
