* Scan the QR code on a Hitster card to instantly find its song.
* Play it in your external player of choice (NewPipe or the YouTube app).
* Spoiler-safe flow: a flip-the-phone countdown, with the year, title and artist
hidden until you choose to reveal them.
* Works with many sets and expansions; mapping data is cached for offline use.
Tubester lets you play the Hitster music board game using YouTube instead of a
Spotify subscription. Point it at the QR code on a card and it opens the matching
song in an external player of your choice, such as NewPipe or the YouTube app.

A Hitster QR code contains only the card's identity, not the song. Tubester reads
the language and card number, looks the card up in the community
"songseeker-hitster-playlists" dataset to find the exact track, and hands the
YouTube link to your external player.

To keep the round fair, Tubester shows a "turn the phone upside down" hint and a
short countdown before playback starts, because the external player displays the
video title. The answer (year, title and artist) stays hidden behind a Reveal
button. For a fully spoiler-free experience, set NewPipe to open links in the
background so no title is ever shown.

or YouTube. It relies on YouTube, a non-free network service.

Versions

Although APK downloads are available below to give you the choice, you should be aware that by installing that way you will not receive update notifications and it's a less secure way to download. We recommend that you install the F-Droid client and use that.
