LibreNotes

Private, self-hosted, end-to-end encrypted note-taking.
LibreNotes is a private, self-hosted note-taking app with end-to-end encryption. Your notes are stored only on your own server — no cloud accounts, no third-party services, no tracking.

Features:
- Markdown notes with live preview
- End-to-end encryption (XChaCha20-Poly1305 + Argon2id): the server never sees your plaintext or keys
- Offline-first: full local cache, works without network, syncs when your server is reachable
- Conflict resolution: if two devices edit the same note, you choose the winner
- Trash bin with restore and permanent delete
- Dark theme with orange accent
- Works on Android, Linux desktop, and web from the same codebase

The sync server is a single compiled binary you run on a home server. It binds to your LAN only. For access away from home, add devices and the server to a Tailscale or WireGuard mesh — no server changes needed.

All source code is AGPLv3. No proprietary dependencies, no Firebase, no Google Play Services.
