Libre Contacts Backup
- Restoring a backup no longer crashes on Android 10 and 11, where the phone lacks the newer SIM contacts provider
- Automatic backups can no longer be cancelled silently by an interrupted or overlapping run. If a backup is stopped partway through (slow phone, Doze, or the system reclaiming resources), the next scheduled backup still happens at the usual time
- A slow-to-read SIM card phonebook can no longer delay or derail an automatic backup
- After a device reboot, the automatic schedu
Features:
* Lossless backup preserving the full Contact → RawContact → Data hierarchy, including contact groups
* SIM card phonebook captured in every backup; on restore, SIM contacts can be written back to the SIM card, into the device address book, or both — and on phones with more than one SIM (including an eSIM) you pick which of the available cards they go to
* Scheduled local backups at a time you choose — daily, weekly on a selected weekday, or monthly on a selected day (if a month is shorter than that day, it runs on the month's last day) — with no internet connection required
* Single-file LCB archives containing canonical JSON, VCF, CSV, and normalized exports
* Optional AES-256-GCM password-protected encryption (Android Keystore backed)
* Restore consolidates each source contact correctly, without merging different people who share a name
* Manual CSV and vCard exports, and the CSV opens in Excel and other spreadsheet apps
* Retention by age — keep the newest backups per day, week, and month with counts you choose (for example 7 daily, 4 weekly, 3 monthly), so the recent past stays densely backed up while older history thins out — or simply keep the last N sets

- SIM card phonebook is now captured in every backup — the names and numbers stored on your SIM card are backed up alongside your device contacts
- On restore, choose where SIM contacts go: back to the SIM card, into the device address book, or both
- On phones with more than one SIM (including an eSIM), pick which of the available cards the contacts are written to; on a single-SIM phone it uses that card automatically
- If a SIM write fails (full or unsupported card), entries are restore
- Retention by age: keep the newest backups of each recent day, week, and month, so your history stays dense for the recent past and thins out further back. One tap lets you choose how much history to keep (last week, month, 3 months, or year), and advanced settings let you pick exact counts per tier — for example 7 daily, 4 weekly, and 3 monthly — or set a tier to 0 to keep nothing from it.
- The backup retention setting now offers two policies: keep the last N backup sets (the previous
